Why Clubs get involved in Match Fixing?

The three major clubs in Italy have been punished and been relegated to Series B of Italian league. AC Milan will stay in Serie A but will lose 15 points and will be kicked out of the Champions League. Juventus were stripped of their last two titles and had 30 points deducted meaning that they are almost certain to stay down for two seasons. Juventus, Lazio and Fiorentina have been demoted to the second division for their involvement in Italy’s match-fixing scandal. Thirteen of Italy’s World Cup-winning squad play for the clubs involved, with five at Juventus, who also number Patrick Vieira, Lilian Thuram, David Trezeguet, Pavel Nedved and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in their ranks. I really do not understand why clubs as big as this get involved in match fixing. They really do not set good example for new generation of young players. But the most worrying part is players like Vieira, Trezeguet and many more world class players will be not playing in Series A. Do you think this was enough punishment against clubs who get involved in match fixing and play with fans sentiment.
